57,026 reasons! This staggering number of orphans and abandoned children comes only from the small country of Romania. The need for workers in this line of ministry is great, but unfortunately many assume that because they enjoy working with the children in their church or neighborhood, they are equipped to help these neglected children. The sad reality is that each of these children have endured trauma of some kind. This trauma has affected their brains, causing them to see and react to life in a completely different way than a child who has grown up in a secure household. So, what skills does one need to work with these children? Is a short-term mission trip to an orphanage a good idea? How can you help even if you are not called to go? I will address these and other ideas during the workshop.
